The Costa Blanca (white coast), stretches some 200km of the med coast, from Gandia in the North to Pillar de la Horradada in the South. Offering something for everyone, from a beautiful and varied coast line with many blue flag beaches, to mountains, natural parks, nature reserves and sleepy Spanish villages, to the bustling towns of Alicante and Torrevieja. The weather here is a big attraction, with over 300 days of sunshine a year and the world heath organization claiming this area to be the healthiest place in Europe! It's a fantastic place for relocation or holidays.
The town of Torrevieja is a ten minute drive from our office in Villamartin. Once a small fishing village and over the years becoming a large Cosmopolitan town, boasting 3 large marinas, a wonderful promenade, a huge range of shops, fresh fish markets, night markets, water parks, and funfairs to name but a few. It's a great place to sample some of the many fiestas held in Spain, such as the Semana Santa (Easter parade) the Three Kings (Christmas parade), Christians and Moors parades and many more. From a relaxing stroll along the promenade, (a favorite with the Spanish), to water sports, boat/fishing trips, shopping or fine dining and for the more energetic a huge choice of bars and clubs that are open all night. This town has something for everyone.
Heading South to the beaches of Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor, these are all fantastic for sun/beach lovers. With their golden sands, clear warm waters and the blue flag awards year after year, they are wonderful beaches for relaxing and swimming. After a hard day on the beach and with the sun going down a well deserved cocktail or two, goes down a treat at one of the beach bars, often with a free flamenco or fire dancing show. A short walk from the beaches will bring you to the vibrant strips of La Zenia and Cabo Roig, with a huge choice of restaurants, bars and clubs. A short drive South from here, past more fabulous beaches, we come to the Mar Menor at San Pedro. The Mar Menor is the largest salt water lagoon in Europe with shallow, protected and even warmer water than the med. It's a great place to explore, from the mud baths at San Pedro to the famous La Manga Golf complex. A few kilometers back from the coast, golf lovers will be in heaven with a great choice of beautiful green courses. So the area we live and work in really does have it all and we would love to show you around.
